Beth, I must agree with david ... I saw this movie before Christmas. Thought it was better than the book, actually. Bleak outlook, yes, but in hindsight it seems to be less about the future than about our past (yugoslavia, irak, warsaw ... those long scenes in the ghetto). loved michael caine - but then I love his acting when he as much as sneezes.

Welcome to my old blog, which is standing in for my usual blog, which actually hadn't been a terribly active blog, but now is an erased blog due to no one's fault but my own. In any case, globalmobilesocial went away without me noticing, so I'm going to post here till I get wordpress all happy again. I've got some fieldwork and other trips coming up, and I wanted to have a place to keep folks informed of how things go on the travels. Enjoy.
